Our Horsemanship Philosophy
We believe that horses should be treated with great respect and understanding so that we may become good working partners with our horses. In order to better understand horses so that we may offer them this respect and understanding, we must continue to grow as human beings: to become better people, if not for ourselves, then for them. They did not choose this life, it was chosen for them by us. Because of this we have a great obligation to the horses; we must do everything in our power at the moment to best fit them and to continue working on ourselves to become better for them.
Specializing in teaching Foundation Horsemanship, we teach our students to effectively communicate with their horses through feel, timing and balance. We practice the horsemanship philosophies of Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman to the best of our understanding and abilities. At Donohue Horsemanship, you will find no gimmicks, no song and dance, just a community of people trying to improve themselves and their horses!
We offer horsemanship lessons for beginners through advanced riders, horsemanship clinics, colt starting, and refinement training for you and your horse!
